OnePlus 2 Review

The much awaited OnePlus 2 hit the market earlier this week. Riding on the immense success of its predecessor, OnePlus One, the Flagship model, OnePlus 2 is seemingly taking the consumers to buying frenzy. The Shenzhen based company decided to make a ‘flagship killer’ that offered high-end specs at half the usual price, and delivered it as the OnePlus 2.

The OnePlus One had built up its success afar Google decided not to subsidize Nexus phones, which gave an unprecedented patronage to the OnePlus One. The OnePlus 2 is available through various online shopping sites for around Rs. 24,999/- . With a 1.8 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Processor & 4GB of RAM, the phone packs a punch. It has a 13megapixel Rear Camera & a 5 Megapixel front camera, a 5.5 Inch IPS display for big screen viewing & a 3,300 mAh battery.

OnePlus 2 First Look

The OnePlus 2 inherits a lot of resemblance from its predecessor, but still looks fresh. Second thing one would notice is the weight. This one is a bit on the heavier side which is a good thing as it gives a ‘Premium’ feel to it. The Sandstone Black finish on the rear makes for a better grip. The Alert Slider, a 3 way slider button on the left edge, is a delight to use, which is the first of its kind to be used in an Android Phone. Add to it the Fingerprint Scanner which is soon becoming a norm in high-end phones.

OnePlus 2 Display

With a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and a 5.5 inch display, the OnePlus 2 steps ahead of its predecessor. It seems a little washed out & bright, but the viewing angles are incredible.

OnePlus 2 Hardware

Powered by a 1.8 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Processor & a 4 GB ram to support it, the phone is more than capable to perform any task with ease, not matter what. However, there is a little tolerable heating issues while playing higher-end games, which seems quite normal and could be fixed after some updates. It is a dual SIM (GSM & GSM) which accepts two Nano SIM cards. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3g, 4G. Sensors include Proximity, Ambient Light, Accelerometer and Gyroscope. The phone includes a 64GB internal memory & cannot be expanded.

OnePlus 2 Camera

The OnePlus 2 sports a 13 Megapixel Rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. It captures excellent details in well-lit environment owing to its 6 physical lenses, Object Image stabilization and laser focus. It also sports a dual tone LED flash which is good for low-light photography. The front camera is a 5 Megapixel shooter with wide angle lenses to take large group selfies.

OnePlus 2 Software Experience

As per the company, OnePlus 2 comes with the standard Oxygen 2.0 UI. However, it feels more of a stock android because it is in fact stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with minor tweaks and additions layered by the Oxygen 2.0 UI. The UI is fast, bloatware free and handles like a charm. The company boasts of a new addition called SHELF which is basically an all-purpose space where you can organize your apps for quick access. Apart from this, the UI also includes individual app permissions which is a really handy feature.

OnePlus 2 Battery Life

The OnePlus 2 is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery which surely looks good on paper, but given the hardware specs and the amazing display, it won’t last all day long. The sad part is that it has a USB Type-C port & doesn’t support QuickCharge and takes around three hours to charge the phone completely.

buy-now

All in all, OnePlus 2 is a phone which its patrons will love. But how many is the question. Its a good looking, good-feeling phone which is packed with power features to enthral. Hope this OnePlus 2 review help you get adequate information about the phone.
